Description

Known for being the centerpiece of paranormal activity, Glowhisper appears like nothing but a scraggly shrub before it bears its fruit. The main wooded stem sprouts in widely different twisted patterns, though only at the very top do branches split off from the middle, these thin limbs usually evenly spaced that daintily spiral at the ends. The base of the Glowhisper's stalk widens in diameter as it reaches the ground, giving enough room for its deep-set roots to abundantly spread throughout the soil in a twirling manner.

As the bush gradually begins to mature, small buds which first take on a green coloration take shape in singular amounts on the ends of each branch. Unlike most berries that produce on plants like this, what starts as a small bud will burgeon into an enormous fruit that may otherwise look too large to be held on such a small shrub. About the size of an apple, and supported by such spindly branches, it does indeed apply tension to the flora which causes it to bend from the weight. To it's advantage, however, it's symmetrical limb structure keeps it balanced to prohibit the main stem from arching and possibly breaking.

This fruit which the Glowhisper produces captures that of both mortal and undead eyes- as they turn ripe, an illuminated glow surrounds the entire large berry, revealing a vivid orange-yellow color that only reveals this bright state during the night. Although it is rather delicate, with skin that can break or bruise easily and can tarnish the soft fruity flesh on the inside. While these can easily be plucked from the plant and stored away, doing so ingeniously may lead to a mishap. Being aware of what the mysterious fruit is capable of tends to be important before simply harvesting it.

Because of the scarcity of this plant, very few actually know of its true properties. Curiously so, the brightly glowing fruit acts as a hive for the paranormal sort. Incorporeal subtypes of the Undead are most commonly attracted to the appearance of a Glowhisper berry, though why is a grave mystery. Though many are generally feared, greater Incorporeal Undead, such as Banshees, are enormously bewared to lurk near the teeming fruit on rare occasions. Picking this and keeping it stored decreases the chances of attracting these being, although by eating the relatively sweet berry, it is not impossible for the consumer themselves to be able to attract these ghostly subjects.

Location

Glowhisper most commonly sprouts where water is constantly available for the roots to reach, and where mist often settles along the ground. This includes the unnavigable marshlands, though they can also be found near obscure ponds or lakes hidden within forests. It has been found, however, that this plant is sometimes purposefully planted near the aftermath of necromatic magicks, due to the Undead being a product from such.

Development

Glowhisper rarely tends to replant due to its elongated lifetime, regrowing and soon losing the fruit it produces once it rots from age, continuing this cycle until it is either destroyed or inevitably dies. Usually a new Glowhisper only occurs if it is deliberately replanted to the person's own discretion, or more naturally the seeds of a rotted fruit are carried off by an animal, yet the chances of that happening is bound to be minuscule. Once it does manage to take to a seedling, the flora will take nearly [3 OOC weeks] for it to fully grow and begin the process of developing its precious fruit.
