Description

The Viscous Viburnum is a tree like growth which thrives exclusively in warm to tropical waters, the plant itself resembles that of a tree not dissimilar to an oak though pale in color with a smooth almost rubbery bark coating the plant, the height of the tree can measure anywhere from ten meters to one hundred meters in height dependent upon the sea floor, the tree itself produces no leaves rather instead producing a frogspawn like jelly, green in color that functions akin to its land dwelling counterparts, however the gelatinous leaf mass possesses a corrosive property as the plant uses it to digest plankton and small fish, dissolving and ingesting through the Jelly as a proxy to help feed itself and grow. These Jelly leaves sway with water currents and do not detach from the plant easily.

The Viscous Viburnum grows over a period of 500 years from a jelly coated seedling, reaching maturity within 70 years.

Material Properties

• The Wood of a Viscous Viburnum is sponge like in texture but with the durability of hardwood, it gives upon touch but returns to shape, and is useful as armor for absorbing blunt weaponry. In addition, it also does not absorb water, and does not change your weight compared to other materials underwater.
