Description
Growing like a weed, rooting itself and scaling up sheer faces of rock and wall, the Cenogary Ascentum may be found. Cenogary Ascentum is a simple weed, which will break into the mortar between cobbles of walls, or find the faintest fractures within rocks to set its roots within. Throughout most of the tsel Cenogary Ascentum will be nothing more than a leafy vine - with grand green leaves. Though, in the months of Leerily and Pluvily, from the vine will sprout a flower, which is akin to a hibiscus. Cupped with a grand stem, and hot pink, orange, or red pigments.
Delving further into the root system of the Cenogary Ascentum, the structure is similar to a string of beads. As, uniquely, the strong roots will reach as far as the system is able, before expanding its furthest root stems into bulbs. The expansion of these hard, quarter sized bulbs is enough to fracture the rock - and allow for a deeper rooting of the plant within the rockface. Over decades, and centuries, the Cenogary Ascentum has been made the culprit of the destruction of many castles over time. As the infestation of this weed will gradually crumble a wall’s integrity, and is deemed a hazard by many Lords - who wish to keep their defensive walls strong.
Location
Cenogary Ascentum will take root in sheer rock faces, such as castle walls and cliff sides.
Development
Cenogary Ascentum is a quickly growing vine, which may easily develop into an infestation - if left unchecked. A sprout may grow in [1 OOC month] to scrawl across 3x3m of wall face.
Material Properties
- The bulbs of Cenogary Ascentum are extremely durable and strong, yet have the ability to bounce. For this reason, they can be used as a plant-based blunt weapon if properly crafted, and is on par with that of Steel or Iron due to being capable of delivering the same amount of kinetic force without being harmed.
Alchemical Properties
- Despite the poison of Cenogary Ascentum being non-lethal, it can still be deadly. When combined with another sedative, such as Morto’s Hand, the effect of the comatose increases significantly. The poisoned enters a deep sleep, indistinguishable from death itself. The heartbeat will slow to a point undetectable, and all vital signs will seem to have ended. After [48 OOC hours] the poisoned returns, lethargic and tired for the next [24 OOC hours] of consciousness.
