The Mana Vortex
Surrounding the volatile lands of Adelona to the north lays a strange storm that has raged for longer then anyone can remember. Pulsating and raging around itself, the storm does not expand, nor does it contract. It rages around a single point below the ground, with occasional mana-charged lightning striking within. Mages around the epicenter of the storm find with difficulty to cast because of the extreme amounts of unstable mana saturation, and often any creatures that wander within the storm come out changed in some odd, abnormal way. While it poses no outward harm, and is in fact extremely beautiful to watch during the night on a hill near the storm, many legends and mysterious still surround the vortex, swirling in the heads of scholars just as much as it does upon itself.
There are ancient legends that state something immensely powerful below the ground is causing the vortex, but nobody has yet to find any semblance to that truth, or if they have, lived to tell the tale..
