Geography
The Geography of the continent is rather singular, and though it is one of the larger ones, almost equaling Aversia in size, it is surrounded by a spiral of small islands, making a sort of nebulous shape about the large continent. Its covered in mostly grasslands, with a central mountain range dividing the north and the south. In the direct center of the continent, there capital lays in its large and steep valley. This ancient city, magnificent in structure and stance has received renovations, making it more prosperous and powerful than ever before. The temperature is warm and comfortable for the most part, though winters do become cold. The mountaintops are known to snow, but the lowland plains are unlikely to receive snow, making these fertile lands safe to farm year round.
Government
The Government in Aestatia is currently led by the second Empire under Trajanus. At varying points there have been both Republics and Democracies, and the rich history of the continent, both within bloodshed and without have led to a great sense of national pride. Militarily, Aestatia takes pride in being led by the Emperor himself and his chosen generals, whom often are put in their position based on merit or nepotism, depending on the currently ruling emperor. A highly militarized society, veterans of military service are often granted plots of land, or political positions to further increase their influence after they can no longer fight. Because of this, most of Aestatia's foreign policy is based toward creating as much space between foreign nations and their capital via "Defensive Wars" to expand their domain.
