The Earthborne

Creator of the Trials

Motto: "Be like a stone. Stubborn, tenacious, and unstoppable if it decides to move."
Colors: Earthen Grey, Muddy Brown
Domain: Earth, Tenacity, Defense

All of the Vaya embody the very elements they are made of, and this is no exception for the bulwark that is Thairr. He exists as the entire world itself, everywhere there exists stone. Like stone, Thairr is unmoving and stubborn, but not one to completely halt the rest of the world. Vuona’s waters still forge rivers and canyons, while Orono’s winds find new paths in between or around the earth. He is seen as being very dull and emotionless; this is true, for the most part, but even stone can feel all that goes on around it.

Origin

Thairr’s origin ties in with Orono’s, as they were born at roughly the same time. When Orono blasted the gust that was felt around the globe, Thairr awoke, the planet shifting and churning as he did. He couldn’t do what the other Vaya could, and that was move, or follow along the others, or enjoy himself. He was literally stuck to a life of solitude for eons upon eons, hence why most know him to be judgmental, brooding, and stalwart. Even with the coming of Vuona and life, Thairr stood solemnly and quietly, watching everything progress, never interacting. It wasn’t until sentient life rolled around when he saw his purpose. He couldn’t come to the shaman like the others could, but he was practically everywhere at once. He could judge, and see if they were truly worthy, if they had really passed the trials. Given his isolation and attitude, this came natural to him, and he became the scales that balanced, that weighed out the Shaman’s mistakes and victories, their failures and successes.

Thairr's Doctrine

  • Be stalwart in the face of every threat, both within and without.
  • Judge and guide those that would try and commit to the trials.

Plane of Origin

Xochor

When one thinks of stone, they often envision an unchanging mass, a structure impervious to the flow of time, and they would not be far off when it comes to Xochor. This realm is naught but sprawling mountains and fields of cracked rock, changing only through eons of stone grinding against one another. Within this realm no life lays but the hardiest of minerals and spirits, whom roam the never changing land and inhabit the many faces of the mountains that have formed.

Description

It is a theme that the Primordial Titans take at least partly after their Vaya, and it’s no exception when it comes to the titan known as Gaionus. Usually in the form of some kind of metal, he cares not for any humanoid form but understands the need to not startle mortals, so Gaionus is typically shaped to hold at least, sometimes at maximum, one humanoid limb or body part. He most often prefers a singular face of metal upon rock, though tales tell of a metal arm bursting from the ground to snatch up disobedient shamans before guiding them with swift verbal discipline. Gaionus solemnly yet powerfully commands the forces of all land in service of the judgemental and brooding Thairr.

Relations with Mortals

Gaionus is a quiet, often gentle giant when he appears before mortals. While not always so demanding of respect when initially appearing, it takes but a single commanding sentence to silence any shaman who dares not to recognize him for his position. Gaionus is an extension of Thairr, uncaring of his own existence except to present himself as a proper construct and representation of his creator.

Relations with the Vaya

Being the much more mobile and expressively-capable version of Thairr, Gaionus is capable of showing resentment for how the other Vaya think of Thairr. When not performing duties, he will commonly take the form of a large pillar or another construct to block Orono’s winds out of stubborn protest. However, this has attracted the attention of the giddy and curious Aethecias before, finding Gaionus an unintentional and often pleasant companion, of sorts.
