The Created
In order to create a homunculus you need the materials to make one ICly, however you may create a new character that is a homunculus to play. Abnormal homunculus can only be played if they are created through RP.
History
A Homunculus has a history deeply rooted with alchemy and the desire to create life, even if artificial. Rumor has it that a rather lonesome elf had created a homunculus in order to create a family for himself. Others say that homunculus were originally created in order to be free slave labor, though one thing is true and common amongst both theories of their creation. The use of Kalapis is a requirement to create this artificial life and they’re oftentimes viewed as too expensive to be worth creating by many alchemists. Others believe it’s cruel, to create a soulless being capable of forming a personality, but only being able to live an extremely short lifespan.
Those who create homunculus in attempts to create more stable and longer lived or normal people, they tend to use both Kalapis and Ilwenal to achieve their desired effect, but there is still a very huge flaw in their creation. No one can truly create a soul and only wicked necromancers steal souls from others to place into these soulless bodies. Should a soul be put in a homunculus’s body, they will be considered a normal being, and their personality will be the same as the homunculus rather than the soul from the person who was sacrificed to bring them true life. They will share the same lifespan unless they were made with Illwenal, in which case they will retain their normal race’s lifespan however at the cost of twenty years of life shaved off due to their abnormal creation.
Physical Description
Homunculus tend to take an appearance after the race that they were spawned from in the case of using an actual person as a base of reference for the homuncui’s creation. If it were a half-elf’s hair that was used to create the homunculus, it will be mechanically a half-elf of the same kind, and will have a very similar appearance to the original with some minor changes due to the nature of creation. It is entirely possible to create a homunculus without the use of any genetic material such as hair or spit. Though this method always leaves a very characteristic and visible flaw, albinism. Should genetic material be used without the usage of illwenal, the homunculus will be granted albinism, though will visibly resemble the being used to create it. The body of a homunculus will almost always be frail and on the shorter side of heights, regardless of what race they are modeled to be after. Due to this, it's very rare to ever see a homunculus do any sort of hard physical labor, though the most cruel of alchemists have been known to still use them as hard labor slaves.
- Common Height:
- Male: 4'10" - 5'8"
- Female: 4’5"- 5'2"
- Common Build: Ectomorph
- Common Eyes: Pale Red, Pale Pink, Pale White-Blue
- Common Hair: White, Pale White-Blonde
- Common Skin Tone: Extremely Fair and Pale
Culture
Homunculus do not have any predetermined culture, and rather have their culture entirely based off of what race they were created by. More often than not, they share the same culture as their creator.
Mechanics
- Lifespan: 16-20 Years on Average
- The mechanics of a homunculi completely depend on the method of its creation.
- Universal Mechanics:
- Due to the lack of a soul, they are not able to possess an aurum type.
- They age naturally like a human despite their short lifespan, meaning that the majority of their life they are merely a child.
- Should a homunculus gain a soul, if they are normal, they will retain their normal lifespan, if abnormal, they will gain normal lifespan of their race minus twenty years.
- All homunculus are infertile, regardless of creation. Should a homunculus get a soul, they will not be granted fertility.
- In the case of not having any genetic material, the alchemist will roll a 1d8 upon creation. Then they also will roll a 1d2 to determine gender, 1 Male 2 female.
- Upon rolling a 1, the user must roll a 1d7:
- A 1 will be Hestark, 2 Tocoatl, 3 Valois, 4 Hanese, 5 Aestatian, 6 Yusati, 7 Avaltan.
- Upon rolling a 2, the user must roll a 1d4:
- A 1 will be a Forest Elf, 2 Dark Elf, 3 Snow Elf, 4 High Elf.
- Upon rolling a 3, the user must roll a 1d2:
- A 1 will be a halfling and a 2 will be a dwarf.
- Upon rolling a 4, the user must roll a 1d3:
- Upon rolling a 1, the homunculus will be a half-orc and must roll a 1d2 to determine if it will be half elf or human. Upon one they must roll on the human chart and 2 they must roll on the elf chart. This will determine characteristics / appearance, mechanics will follow the half-orc page.
- Upon rolling a 2, the homunculus will be a half-mer and must must roll a 1d2 to determine if it will be half elf or human. Upon one they must roll on the human chart and 2 they must roll on the elf chart. This will determine characteristics / appearance, mechanics will follow half-mer page.
- Upon rolling a 3, the homunculus will be a half-elf and must roll a 1d7 on the human chart above to determine what human half they are, and a 1d4 to determine what elf they will be. The mechanics still follow the half-elf page, but the human/elf roll must be made to determine those mechanics.
- Upon rolling a 5, the user must roll a 1d7:
- A 1 will be a Draxgar, 2 Danakov, 3 Vilo'tae, 4 Skrayln, 5 Satyr, 6 Aervan, 7 Leonin.
- Upon rolling a 6, the user must roll a 1d2:
- A 1 will be an Orc and a 2 will be a Goblin.
- Upon rolling a 7, the user must roll a 1d2:
- A 1 will be a Syrien and a 2 will be a Syva-Syrien.
- Upon rolling a 8, the user must roll a 1d3:
- A 1 will be a Centaur, a 2 will be a Dryad, and a 3 will be a Sinnehliv.
- Upon rolling a Dryad, the creator may OOCly determine what type of dryad they are aesthetically.
- Normal Homunculus:
- A normal homunculus is created with purely kalapis, and while they may optionally have a piece of genetic material used in their creation to bring them life, they don’t need it in order to be made.
- In the case of not having a piece of genetic material to be made, they will resemble their rolled race with slightly flat faces. Their ears will be pointed and droop downwards and their eyes appear sunken. They will not have the mechanics of that race, merely appearance.
- Should they have a piece of genetic material, such as a human’s hair, they will visibly resemble that person and share the same gender however they will be created with albinism and won’t share the same racial mechanics.
- In the case of the person who the homunculus is being based off of, should the race have wings of any sort, they will not be able to fly and will merely have limp, useless and extremely vulnerable and sensitive wings. If the race is a syrien, their gills will not function and merely inhibit them on their neck and they won’t be able to turn into a tailed version, simply have legs.
- The homunculus will have a strength tier of two and a speed tier of three.
- Due to the nature of their albinism, they are much more eye-sensitive to light and experience sunburns much easier when outside in daylight.
- Abnormal Homunculus:
- An abnormal homunculus is a homunculus crafted with the use of both kalapis and illwenal and optionally has a piece of genetic material used to craft them into existence.
- The homunculus will share the same racial mechanics as the genetic material’s race, in the case of a half-elf’s hair being used for example, the homunculus will have the same racial mechanics as that same half-elf, and will resemble them in appearance.
- In the case of not having a piece of genetic material to be made, they will resemble their rolled race with slightly flat faces. Their ears will be pointed and droop downwards and their eyes appear sunken. They will have the mechanics of their rolled race as well.
- The homunculus will have a lowered speed and strength from their created race by one tier. They however cannot go below strength tier one and speed tier one as they would be too weak to function.
- An Abnormal homunculus doesn't naturally have albinism, but may decide to have it OOCly upon character creation, in which case they will follow the normal homunculus albinism rule.
- The abnormal homunculus will have an additional ten years of life to the norm.
