Synchronus

The realm of Synchronus is an alternate reality mirrored almost one to one of our own. The planet Aethius remains the centerpiece of the world, and despite minor geographical differences is all but the same world, with but one difference. The realm of Synchronus does not have a restriction upon its technological advancement, and thus has advanced over generations to become extremely advanced technologically, but still vastly medieval in terms of society and racial differences. Covering the many landmarks of the planet, vast, machine-like metropolises cover its surface, spewing pollutants and other various chemicals into the atmosphere to drive the worlds endless innovation. The largest of these cities is known as New Ghamarez, on the western continent of Ayinar, and is under authority, like the rest of the world-of the United Empire Initiative, UEI, which retains an autonomous, yet firm grip on every puppet nation of the world.

Geography

A mirrored dimension just like our own planet, Synchronus reality is often one and the same with our own, albeit with many more bored holes and endless mines scattered throughout the planet. The world is heavily interconnected by wear-resistant polymer roads, and massive superbridges made of hardlight which allow the transport of goods and people over continental distances. The very same great forests and mountain ranges that rule over the world in our own world remain, yet many of them are vastly deforested for their lumber, or hollow for their resources. The people of Synchronus have a distinct lack of care for the environment, over their own endless wish of innovation.

Government

The grand government that rules over the planet Synchronus is known as the United Empire Initiative, which operates as a single governmental entity that controls a vast array of puppet states. The central government itself is merely a city-state centered in the capitol, and ensures that the global laws, policies and of course taxation, are all carried out. Every nation carries with it an elected or hereditary leader that answers to a massive council called the Union of Nations, UoN, where every year an agenda of innovation and technological advances are set, among countless other issues. Ever since its establishment, very few armed conflicts have broken out, and those that did were quickly snuffed out in fear of another great war.

History

Many centuries ago, much of the world sought to enshrine itself into a great war with its new technology, and rendered much of the central continent, Aversia-uninhabitable for the next millennia from its useless, and utterly fruitless white peace. From this, a grand treaty signing a permanent armistice with every nation was signed at the Capitol Ghamarez, but was disrupted when a terrorist organization known merely as the "Freedom Fighters" set off a chemical device that killed millions within the city, including all the current world leaders. In response, the last surviving Heir of Ayinar, Calmari, declared the world in a state of emergency, and gathered the signatures of every nation of the world to unite under a treaty of interdependence, in which the world would no longer look to spend its resources separately in advancing the ways of war, but instead together in the ways of defense and innovation against all those that would stop the path of peace and prosperity. The city of Dujara, where the Pharaoh, now chairman, was renamed to New Ghamarez in respect for the fallen, and became the capitol of the world itself thereafter.

Culture

Culture inside of the UEI varies somewhat, but due to the centuries under one rules, ethnic lines have blurred into a general single statement. The dominance of Humanity as the primary species of the world. Despite their short lives, they are the most bio-compatible with machines, capable of augmentations and even extreme bionic upgrades to their systems like no other race is. With their rapid gestation compared to other species, and their general compatibility of interbreeding with many of the races, they have quickly established a caste system with Humanity alone standing at the top of the food chain. Second-Class citizens are species that are similar to humans inherently, such as human half-breeds, and the elves. The third class stands as the category for the rest of the humanoid races, and the fourth class are widely considered to be animals, and are kept in internment camps. These include Sinnehliv, Dryads, and any other non bipedal humanoid or non-humanoid species. Every city is adorned with districts for the castes to live and provide, segregated to prevent any inter-species breeding that is not from the human dominant side. Many would call this sort of reality a dystopia, and they would find many similarities with that statement. Android police and countless security drones guard the streets, ready to strike for the tiniest of infractions. Nonetheless, they work and toil, and life goes on. Religion follows the same pattern, as worship of certain deities by caste is forbidden, with Vassas and Veltes seen as a worship humanity alone has the right to preform.
