Heroic Spirits

From Aethier

A heroic spirit is a mortal being who has made such great strides in their time that they have left a profound effect or remembrance upon the mortal world, no matter how many generations have passed. These "Spirits" are beings born of memories, shards of the mortal beings at their peak where they roam within Aeveterinity. Saving the world or destroying it, they left either a beautiful legend, or a wicked story parents tell their children about to scare them in line to this day. Their spirits, whether resting now as a divine spirit or safely within the afterlife, remember every experience of them being summoned, but their counterparts that are called upon do not.

Summoning

Summoning a heroic spirit requires an advanced spell in magic to preform. Despite the advanced art, that is merely half the battle if one is looking for a specific heroic spirit. Summoning a specific heroic spirit requires a bit of legwork on the side of the mage to acquire, as specific reagents are required for heroic spirits to even be possible to summon to the realms. Items of sentimental value to the heroic spirit, their old weaponry or pieces of clothing they made, all such things can be used as a catalyst to summon them from the heavens above. Otherwise, the spell will always fail if the catalyst to summon them has no tether to the spirit themselves. (Events can be made to look for possible catalysts of their persons, but count as a legendary item.)

Summoning a heroic spirit requires the space discipline, and a spell specifically for it. In addition, one must have a goal set in mind for the Heroic Spirit and themselves to achieve within a possible timeframe of two OOC months, or the heroic spirit will regardless return to Aeveterinity once that time expires.

Heroic Spirits often do not always make their biggest splash only once in their life. There are often one to two times in which they shine bright enough to have their personalities arrive in Aeveterinity to serve as heroes to be called upon in the realm. These personalities do not have to be the same or even remotely similar to one another, but as long as they accomplished enough feats to enter the realm, they exist.

Mechanics

Heroic spirits are a manifestation and memory of people from the past. Their memories are only that of their time period, however become instantly familiar with the technology or inventions of the era. Heroic spirits can only go within 20m of their summoned master or glyphic circle they are bound to when phased, and do not need to eat, drink or sleep, though they certainly can. Heroic spirits are sustained off the mana of the caster themselves, draining when they are manifested in any situation, even casually. (Having a Heroic spirit manifested is considered stressful for accounts of resting.) Heroic spirits drain 2 Mana per emote in combat, and unphase when the summoner runs out of mana. If carrying a special boon such as divinity or magecraft, they also carry their own unique pool of energy, but always half of what the current maximum is, though certain modifiers may increase or decrease this if innate to the heroic spirit.

Heroic spirits exist in two forms, Phased and Unphased. When Unphased, the heroic spirit does not materially exist, but its form generally stays around the caster within 10m. When phased, they become their original form, blood and all, despite being a construct of mana and die as normal people do, unsummoning when this occurs. Heroic Spirits and their caster can communicate instantly through telepathy no matter the distance from one another, and they are unaffected by counterspells and unweaving's. Heroic Spirits are unable to unphase and rephase during combat, and are forced to one of their forms of their choice at start. A caster can only have one heroic spirit summoned and bound to them at a time.
