The Desert's Gem

The Desert's Gem is a natural, magical site of supposed miracles located within the desert sands. Surrounded on almost all sides by towering sand dunes within the hot desert; the Desert's Gem has remained hidden to most, only being known as a legend and a rumor. Yet, most who have sought it out have been met with failure, or ended up perishing to the sands and the beasts within. It is generally rumored that the water will provide you the fruits of life, and even immortality. However, the truth and the legend of the curse that surrounds the Gem and its promises of greatness are yet to be truly found out.

The Desert's Gem is an oasis, surrounded by abundant life and magical creatures. Wyverns, abnormally large desert creatures, and gargantuan flora make this location their home. Out of the nearby sand dune, water flows infinitely, trickling down into the large, life giving pond below. Its origin is unknown. Some believe it to be a gift from their gods, a holy site, or a magical anomaly gone wrong but in the best way possible. Regardless of its origin, there is a constant in the rumors. Greed will be swiftly met with a violent, and deathly curse, reversing what many explorers sought out.

If a brave and shrewd explorer manages to navigate their way to the gem of the sands, they will be met with the aforementioned sight. If they do wish to drink out of the waters though, there are certainly many unique properties. Explorers have attempted taking the water home or bottling it, but that only results in the water becoming normal.
