Description

Vocatus Seaweed grows directly up towards the water's surface with a flimsy, wavering stem. Flourishing up to a total height of 7 feet (2.1 meters). It's smooth and flexible leaves dance along with sea and are over half the size of a regular human's hand, taking up a lot of space and sometimes used by smaller marine animals to hide in. The entirety of this seaweed plant is tinged with a faint red color, though more umber in coloration. The roots of this plant are nothing special in proportion, digging within the seabed to secure itself though can be ripped or dug out with the necessary tools. This plant also has an adapted ability to grow back missing parts of itself rather quickly, acting like a root due to the fact is is preyed on by plenty of herbivorous fish in the deep. Such a process can take up to [1 OOC week], though if very little of the stem is removed it may only take a sept to grow back.

Syrien especially are fond of Vocatus Seaweed, and really are the only race that can actually reach them because of the depth they thrive in. While the leaves can be skillfully crafted into Seakiss fabric, the entire plant can also be fermented to create very strong alcoholic drinks. Though common in their location, actually reaching them is a challenge, and therefore the drink made from the Vocatus Seaweed can be considered a delicacy. This strong property has an affection of making someone quite drunk.

Location

Vocatus Seaweed can be found in forest-like clumps off the coast of the south within the extended depths.

Development

Vocatus Seaweed discreetly benefits off the fish that eat this plant as a part of their diet. A section of the stem which happens to fall off and disperse within the sea without being eaten will eventually rest to the bottom of the ocean again. Here, it will take root and start the fast process of growth that takes up to [2 OOC weeks]. During any time of its development period, the Vocatus Seaweed can be harvested and hold the same effects as any regular full grown seaweed would. However, it would just make less because of the smaller size.
